i was at work this morning, clearing stuff. as i looked at the calendar, it struck me that i am supposed to fly off next week! gosh... didn't realise it would be so fast..

i was then surfing the net, and an idea came to mind, whether to book chalet at Downtown East... just to chill and relax...

I took a nice drive in the afternoon, just to be dampened by the heavy downpour. I like driving in the rain, but this time round, it was far too heavy. As i reached Kallang, i made a U-Turn after not being able to get a place at KFC. anyways, the way back was so dangerous. I was in the right mind to be in the innermost lane most of the time. The rain was so heavy, that we could barely see the vehicle in front. As i exited into TPE, after ECP, it was a shock to me. I was driving carefully on the innermost lane and so were everyone else. At one part of the road, anyone who went past me from the middle lane, would cause a big, and i mean BIG splash from the wheels. As a result, a huge splash hit my car, covering the windscreen, causing my sight of view to be none for a few seconds! I was like.. should i carry on driving even when i see nothing but water on my windscreen (at the risk of hitting the car in front or hitting the roadside) or jam break (at the risk of being hit at the back)! argh... i ended up releasing my accelerator and let the car roll on till my wiper cleared the view. I was lucky... really lucky...

I was at a corporate event dinner just now. It was at Downtown East. didn't think so much of what i wanted to wear. I wanted to wear a shirt and jeans, but looking at the fact that Guest of Honor is a minister, i decided to put in more effort in dressing up. So, i settled for a proper black evening dinner shirt from Crocodile, light grey pants, black belt and my black boots. Since the venue was pretty near my place, i had already decided to walk. However, looking at the rain, i simply had no choice but to drive. So there i was, reached the ballroom, registered and saw that i was placed in table 4, somehow separated from the other Union members. I didn't think much. I went in, told the organisers my table number and started to look for it. Funny thing, i couldn't find the table, only to be ushered to the VIP table. Then it struck! It appeared that it is the VIP table! I was in shock for a moment, then i saw 2 other colleagues from the Union also ushered to the table. Then it came to sense, that the CEO placed us in that table as we are in the Council of the Union. I was thanking myself for taking the time and effort to dress up!

oh, did i tell you? I passed my First Aid Course! hehe...

here comes December... and soon enough, the new year... how time flies...

nevertheless, make full use of it. haha

my flight to Hanoi has been confirmed. yay!

10/12/2009 - SQ 176 1005hrs

14/12/2009 - SQ 175 1755hrs

to a certain extent, i hate coming back from trips! the reason being, you gotta take a cab home. and from the airport to Pasir Ris, the cab driver will definitely be cursing and swearing the whole journey through. having to wait and queue so long just to send a passenger to Pasir Ris? hahaha

planning to take MRT, but by the time i go through the arrival gate, it will be 6pm+++ the rush hour is in for people to be going home from work. hmmm...

hello.. haha been a bit lazy and moody to blog.

nothing much to say, really, still emo about certain things

my school had its G1 Motor Race last wednesday. it was part of our CIP. initially supposed to be a Makan Rally but changed to around the island kind of amazing race at 5 different venues. anyways, it was kind of fun. we were encouraged to dress up, and that included our cars. it was a rare occassion to see most of our cars being done-up so histerically funny and interestingly. some looked like bridal, some like... dunno wat.. haha... (which reminds me, i gotta upload the pictures).

my group got one of the worse clues to solve. started from school. the venues were as follows:

  1. Bukit Timah Nature Reserve
  2. Botanical Gardens
  3. Peranakan Museum
  4. Hay Dairies (Lim Chu Kang)
  5. Qian Hu Fish Farm
  6. Esplanade

needless to say, we couldn't make it to the check point 5 as we had to be at Esplanade by 12:30hrs. of course, some of us made noise, cos some of them clues were not as bad as ours. we were stranded for nearly an hour at Botanic Gardens trying to find clues, running from one end to another. some groups did not have that in their clues. atan the end, we managed to locate it! gosh... was located at the other entrance of the garden. i then sacrificed to run back to the carpark to get the car at Bukit Timah entrance while the four ladies to wait at the Tanglin entrance. at the end of the day, my feet were aching. totally forgotten about the injuries both legs had suffered over the years. but its ok. its fun.

of course, looking at the location, can die ar... my small Honda, with 3 adults at the back.

The Peranakan Museum (most of us did not know where it was located) was a nice place, sad that we did not get to stay to really explore. most of us are planning to go back for a visit.

as i was driving, it came to mind. wouldn't it be nice if you were around? will make the ultimate team there... hmmm ... maybe we will argue as to who to drive, and whose car to use, but it will indeed be a great time to get to know each other even further under those racing circumstances. then again, you are still in Uni. have not graduated. haiz....

was walking in town few days back. stumbled upon the Tay family. they are apparently back in town to celebrate the holidays. i smiled and nodded my head as a form of greeting, and to my surprise and gladness, they did the same. amazing how losing one person in your life can change things around you. missing you always, Dude.

planning for my next work trip to Hanoi on 10th Dec. can't wait.

then what shall i do to spend my holidays when i return from Hanoi?

another staycation? not sure if Rasa Sentosa is fully booked by the ministry yet. but... to be in a place where it was planned to be an amazing place planned for us, without you.. don't feel right..

back from Sarawak couple of days back. had a good time, despite being a work trip.

stayed in Hotel 360, a new boutique hotel there. was said/claimed to be 5-star. it was a nice hassle free hotel with spacious room. the breakfast room was located at the 18th floor. stunning view of river and mountains in every direction.

visitied the well-known places of interest. the Cat Museum was ok lah. i expected something so much more. the Sarawak Cultural VIllage was great. it was interesting to visit the different longhouses and learn on their living styles and traditions, especially when entering their Headhouse (a house for warriors of the tribe. in the centre of the house are skulls of smoked human head of the enemies).

then visited the traditional Annah Rais Longhouse. an eye-opener indeed. even the cats there are totally under nourished. and i kept thinking of my cat back at home.

one place i vowed to visit again is the Kek Lapis Factory. amazing assortment of Kueh Lapis. i wanted to buy their specialties but were unsure if the cakes could last the trip home without refrigeration.

visited schools for games and such...

the Wind Cave and Fairy Cave were interesting. i nearly had a fall due to the slippery floor, while trying to push forward to lead the group from the middle of the line. the steps were steep wor... and it was dark!

the journey to most of the places brought us through mountains and countryside. and my goodness, to be travelling along the mountains, the view was magnificent.

you just have to see the pictures...

one thing for sure, through out the whole trip, we were well fed! really well fed, so much so, i am now worried in getting back into shape!

and through out the trip, i had only one thing that kept ringing in my mind. what if you were here with me? wouldn't it be wonderful? or to even have you in my mind.

my body is in recovery mode after the NewBalance Run i think. been eating a lot, sleep a lot. though symptoms the same as clinical depression. though i am sure its not a relapse. haha. my right foot is aching now. if it goes on, i will have to bandage it up. i am afraid it could be the old injury. oh yeah... brings me to another story.

i was walking in town. two guys were beside me, one playing PSP and talking. apparently good friends. at the junction beside Paragon, the PSP guy didn't observe properly and started to cross the road, only to be pulled by the other. i was like.. Marcus, did you see that? haha... i only smiled and looked at the stars in the night sky.

the run itself was really a challenge especially when it comes to running on the dirt trail. the ground was not really dry, it was bumpy, there were twigs sticking out here and there, pot holes, mud. kinda of fun too, until we hit the road. then the seaside. pretty cool to run on the sands. then the worse of all, the last 3km of the 10km. a long stretch of road! piangz! i was cursing under my breath when i saw the long stretch! all in all, i simply had to walk. cannot last running after 6km.

anyways, i was pleasant surprised that i clocked in a faster timing compared to Adidas Sundown. i clocked in a Nett Time of 1:00:52s if only i held on longer, i would have gone below 60 minutes... haha. but its ok. next time. must train more. haha.

the holding area was nice. air-conditioned. the events following the run was cool. great singing talents and a comedian. lucky draw.. hmm i didn't win anything of course. hahahaha

now to re-charge and back to gym. i have slightly more than a month to rebuild.

can't wait to fly next week... at the airport by 6:30am! yikes!

got an email.. Rasa Sentosa having a promotion. it kinda brought back the time when we were planning our staycation. playing beach volleyball and all... especially the running my hands through your hair part...

somehow tempting, but wrong timing!

the alarm in my head is starting to ring again. been going home after work and sleep the whole night through. the last time i went through this, it went on for a few weeks before i realised what i was going through. this is definitely not going to happen again! no way! i better get myself out before i fall into a relapse.

NewBalance Real Run this weekend, better continue with my training. oh damn... my shoe is splitting. perfect timing huh! everything is falling apart. i can't run with new shoes! just have to pray that my Nike can last through the 10km. no chest pains today... good sign...
