i was at work this morning, clearing stuff. as i looked at the calendar, it struck me that i am supposed to fly off next week! gosh... didn't realise it would be so fast..
i was then surfing the net, and an idea came to mind, whether to book chalet at Downtown East... just to chill and relax...
I took a nice drive in the afternoon, just to be dampened by the heavy downpour. I like driving in the rain, but this time round, it was far too heavy. As i reached Kallang, i made a U-Turn after not being able to get a place at KFC. anyways, the way back was so dangerous. I was in the right mind to be in the innermost lane most of the time. The rain was so heavy, that we could barely see the vehicle in front. As i exited into TPE, after ECP, it was a shock to me. I was driving carefully on the innermost lane and so were everyone else. At one part of the road, anyone who went past me from the middle lane, would cause a big, and i mean BIG splash from the wheels. As a result, a huge splash hit my car, covering the windscreen, causing my sight of view to be none for a few seconds! I was like.. should i carry on driving even when i see nothing but water on my windscreen (at the risk of hitting the car in front or hitting the roadside) or jam break (at the risk of being hit at the back)! argh... i ended up releasing my accelerator and let the car roll on till my wiper cleared the view. I was lucky... really lucky...
I was at a corporate event dinner just now. It was at Downtown East. didn't think so much of what i wanted to wear. I wanted to wear a shirt and jeans, but looking at the fact that Guest of Honor is a minister, i decided to put in more effort in dressing up. So, i settled for a proper black evening dinner shirt from Crocodile, light grey pants, black belt and my black boots. Since the venue was pretty near my place, i had already decided to walk. However, looking at the rain, i simply had no choice but to drive. So there i was, reached the ballroom, registered and saw that i was placed in table 4, somehow separated from the other Union members. I didn't think much. I went in, told the organisers my table number and started to look for it. Funny thing, i couldn't find the table, only to be ushered to the VIP table. Then it struck! It appeared that it is the VIP table! I was in shock for a moment, then i saw 2 other colleagues from the Union also ushered to the table. Then it came to sense, that the CEO placed us in that table as we are in the Council of the Union. I was thanking myself for taking the time and effort to dress up!
oh, did i tell you? I passed my First Aid Course! hehe...
